Amsterdam ALP Hotel: A wonderful way to spoil your holidays

Amsterdam is a real fascinating place to spend some time on. However, in the orange city we chave to pay big cash to get a nice, confortable place to stay. But, regardless of your budget, NEVER choose the AMSTERDAM ALP HOTEL. Let's see why:

- When you check-in and pay your room (because you have to pay in advance, of course), they will charge you an extra 4% commission. They say it is for the credit card payment (who is gonna pay 100€ per night in cash?), but this is not announced in the reservation conditions. But as you have to sleep and is not time for looking for another hotel, you pay it, feeling cheated.

- A 4-floors hotel whithout elevator and a medieval times stairs will make your trip to your room a real adventure. You don't have to be really ankward to miss your step, fall down, and maybe die in a bloody mess. But don't worry: when you see the ridiculous room for which you have paid mor than 100€ per night, you will think of killing yourself.

- The ALP has probably the oddest reservation process in the world: when you make the reservation, you will be charged for the room amount, as a guarantee. So far, so good. But when you check in the hotel, you will have to pay again, and they won't refund your reservation amount after some days, so you will have paid TWICE (actually, more than twice, because of the commission) the expected price for an undefined period of time. Some day, after you have left the hotel, miracously they will return your reservation charge, so you will have been charged only the expected room price, plus the commission, of course. So keep in mind to have enough credit in your bank account, or you will have a red-numbers penalty.

- If you have some kind of problems during your stay, don't expect the hotel crew to help you. Rather you will be treated like some piece of shit. Really.

- Their advertising is, simply, an big trash of lies: they are not in a short distance from the city center (unless you think that a 45 minutes walk is a short distance), and they are not a friendly hotel: the management never showed some kind of worry or respect for our troubles.

Enjoy Amsterdam. Forget about this hotel.
